Abstract

2-Bromo-1,5-di-t-butyl-3-isopropylbenzene was prepared and converted to the 2,4-di-t-butyl-6-isopropylphenyl-substituted phosphonons dichloride, primary phosphine, diphosphenes, and dithioxophosphorane. The 31P NMR chemical shifts of these compounds are close to those of 2, 4-di-t-butyl-6-methylphenyl substituted congeners.
