Abstract

A sterically protected diphosphinidenecyclobutene 5 bearing a bulky 2,4,6-triisopropylphenyl group is prepared and allowed to react with W(CO)₅(thf) to give a doubly tungsten-coordinated complex 8, with chelate- and π-type coordination; the structure of the complex is confirmed by X-ray analysis.
