Abstract
We propose that magnetic conductive rod-like powder will be available as new conductive filler in an anisotropic conductive polymer film applicable to a fine electrode gap. The NiP microrod developed by us showed a saturated magnetization suitable for magnetic orientation but an insufficient conductivity. In this report, the conductivity was improved by coating the NiP microrods with Au though Au electroless plating. The morphology, chemical composition, and magnetic and electrical property of Au-plated NiP microrods were investigated by SEM, TEM, ICP-AES, VSM and resistivity measurements.
