Abstract

The paper reports on a study of coliform group density and the enterococcus density together with other water quality parameters such as temperature, transparency, pH, Cl** minus , BOD, COD and DO in Onagawa Bay, Miyagi prefecture, Japan in 1974. Using these data, the statistical character of the coliform group density and the enterococcus density are examined, and the principal component analysis is applied to these data. Finally, the coliform group density and the enterococcus density in Onagawa Bay are predicted by numerical analysis.
