Abstract

A new postdetection selection diversity scheme is proposed that can mitigate the deleterious effect of unequal average signal powers of the diversity branches. The BER performance of a 64kbit/s quaternary differential phase shift keying (QDPSK) signal transmission system based on the new scheme is experimentally evaluated under Rayleigh fading and cochannel interference.
