Polymer nanosheets consisting of silsesquioxane prepared by langmuir-blodgett technique

    Abstract

    Inorganic-organic materials research is a rich and fast-developing area of nanotechnology, which offers a wide scope for minute devices. As a typical inorganic-organic material, polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane possesses a particular cage structure which has advantages of improving the properties of materials. In this study, we synthesized the amphiphilic copolymers of N-dodecyl acrylamide with silsesquioxane derivatives (p(DDA/XQPh) and p(DDA/XQPh)) and prepared the polymer nanosheets using the Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) technique. The uniform LB film deposition was confirmed by UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy. Moreover, surface morphology of the copolymer nanosheets was investigated by atomic force microscopy.
