Physical properties of quasi-one-dimensional mixed-metal and mixed-halogen complexese, Ni1-xPdx (chxn)2Cl yBr1-yY2

Abstract

A series of single crystals of quasi-one-dimensional Ni-Pd mixed-metal MX-chain compounds, Ni1-xPdx(chxn)2Br 3, and mixed-halogen MX-chain compounds, Ni(chxn)2Cl yBr1-y(NO3)2 have been obtained by electrochemical oxidation methods. In order to investigate the electronic states of these compounds, the optical conductivity spectra have been measured. These results indicate that the electronic states of the Ni compounds can be controlled by forming the mixed-metal or mixed-halogen systems.
