Abstract

A physical interpretation of the path-independent je-integral proposed by the authors is presented for two-dimensional cracks in a homogeneous isotropic conductive plate with steady current. An alternative expression of the je-integral is introduced. It is proved that the integral is related to the change of electric resistance of the specimen due to a unit of crack extension.
