Abstract
We report a remarkably reduced photorefractive sensitivity in Ti:LiNbO 3 channel waveguides using substrates with reduced optical absorption near the absorption edge. In addition, the intensity dependence of the saturated index change was measured, which indicates that, based on the Glass model, the saturated value of photoinduced index change is independent of irradiation intensity in the high intensity limit.
