Photoinduced anisotropic deformations in covalent chalcogenide glasses

Abstract

The chalcogenide glass is known to exhibit prominent anisotropic deformations when illuminated by linearly-polarized bandgap light. We report new deformation phenomena for AS2S3. We also propose that many deformation phenomena can be accounted for by an optical force model.
