Photoemission study of single crystal BaPb1-xBixO3

Abstract

Photoemission spectroscopy on single crystal BaPb1-xBixO3 was performed to study difference and similarity in the electronic structure between cuprate and non-cuprate high-Tc superconductors. A clear Fermi edge characteristic of normal metals was found for BaPb0·85Bi0·15O3 while no density of state was observed at EF for BaBiO3. A "mysterious" 9-eV peak was also found for BaPb1-xBixO3 and its possible origin is discussed.
