Abstract

The phosphorus distribution ratios between CaO-MgO(sat. )-Fe//tO-SiO//2-P//2O//5( less than equivalent to 3wt%)-MnO(2-5wt%) or CaO-MgO(sat. )-Fe//tO-SiO//2-P//2O//5(4-5wt%) slags and liquid iron have been obtained in the temperature range from 1550 to 1650 degree C). The activity coefficient of P//2O//5 by Turkdogan and Pearson's treatment is expressed. In the plot of logarithms of activity coefficient of Fe//tO against mole fraction of SiO//2, the values for log gamma (Fe//tO) tend to increase with increase of P//2O//5 content and with the addition of MnO in the range N(SiO//2) less than 0. 1.
