Phased matched UV generation in a silica holey fiber

Abstract

Phased matched ultraviolet generation in a silica holey fiber at wavelengths down to below 300 nm was presented. High energy, 120 fs pulses at 850 nm generated by an amplified Ti:sapphire laser operating at 250KHz repetition rate, was injected into 20 cm of holey fiber and the resulting optical spectrum was measured. The spectrum was flat from ∼600-1200 nm, and extended from ∼480nm to at least 1800 nm.
