Abstract

In Ni2+xMn1-xGa alloys, the temperature of magnetic (TC=376K) and martensitic (TM=202K) phase transitions differ significantly for the stoichiometric composition (X=0). Altering the composition allows a change of these characteristic temperatures. The present work demonstrates that the partial substitution of Mn with Ni increase TM and decrease TC up to their coincidence at C=0.18. To study the physical properties and to construct the T-X phase diagram of Ni2+xMn1-xGa alloy, the measurements of specific heat, ac magnetic susceptibility, and dc resistivity are performed.
