Out-of-Plane Measurement of the 65Cu(e, e′p0) Reaction in the Giant Resonance Region

Abstract

The 65Cu(e, e′p0) coincidence cross section at θe′ = 30° and ϕp= –90° is measured at θp=0° – 180° in the giant dipole resonance energy region. The present geometrical setup is selected to enhance the Coulomb multipole strength. The angular distribution obtained is decomposed into a Legendre series and analyzed by the theory of Kleppinger and Walecka. The result shows the success in geometrically obtaining the contribution of electric quadrupole excitation.
