Orbital fluctuation in perovskite manganites

Abstract

We investigate the nature of the orbital fluctuation in perovskite manganites. The orbital fluctuation is treated as a quantum variable and it is represented by the boson with the constraint. We found that its fluctuation has a low-dimensional character. This enables the orbital liquid state down to low temperatures.
