Abstract
Theoretical study of dilution effects in Mott insulators with orbital degree of freedom is reviewed. Numerical results of dilution effects on the eg orbital system, the spin-orbital coupled system and the quantum orbital system are introduced. Obtained results in these orbital systems are much different from the results in dilute magnetic systems. These characteristic phenomena in the orbital systems are attributed to the directional and frustrated nature of the orbital interactions. Implications for the recent experimental results in the transition metal compounds with orbital order are discussed.
