Optical phonon contribution to the high Tc cooper-pairing investigated by tunneling spectrum

Abstract

Improved Tunneling spectroscopy with [BSCCO(2212)/SiOx] Au tip contact junction enables us to observe significant peaks in the tunneling conductance derivative spectra. They reflects optical phonon modes contribution to the high Tc Cooper-pairing mediation. Especially the breathing mode due to Cu - O bond stretching plays an essential role. In reference of the neutron scattering experiments by Reichhardt et. al and by Egami, the oxide superconducting gap symmetry and the Cooper pair mechanisms are discussed from the tunneling result.
