Abstract

Optical properties, including optical transmittance, absorption coefficient, refractive index, and dielectric constant, of Sr7%, Ce15% co-doped GdF3 crystal grown by the Czochralski method are discussed. Moreover, α-ray responses, including emission spectrum, pulse height spectrum, and decay time, are also presented. This is the first report on refractive index, dielectric constant, and light yield under α-ray irradiation of the Sr:Ce:GdF3 single crystal.
