One-pot polymerization of free saccharides utilizing dehydrating reagent-enzyme system

Abstract

Chemo-enzymatic process is one of the most convenient methods for polysaccharide synthesis. We have already reported a direct synthesis of activated sugar derivatives in organic solvent or aqueous solution. Here we demonstrate a one-pot polymerization reaction based on chemo-enzymatic method. Cellooligosaccharides were prepared through an activated glycosyl donor followed by the addition of a glycosidase.
