One-dimensional character of combination modes in the resonance Raman scattering of carbon nanotubes

Abstract

The analysis of one-dimensional (1D) combination modes in single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWCN) was studied using resonance Raman spectroscopy. The electron-photon scattering was observed in the low chiral angle SWNT. It was found that the sharp peaks were associated with the combination of Zone folded optic and acoustic branches from two dimensional graphite. It was concluded that the combination modes exhibited peculiar dependence on the excitation laser energy in low dimensional materials.
