Inelastic x-ray scattering spectra called x-ray Raman scattering were observed for graphite and diamond. They have EXAFS like oscillation and from the analysis structural parameters can be obtained. Thus, it is proved that x-ray Raman scattering by the use of hard x-rays can be a substitute for soft x-ray absoroption.
