Abstract
Three odd-odd [Formula Presented] isotones, namely [Formula Presented] and [Formula Presented] have been studied via (HI, [Formula Presented] reactions. In all three cases, [Formula Presented] side bands of the [Formula Presented] yrast bands were discovered. This extends the systematic observation of nearly degenerate [Formula Presented] doublet bands in the neighboring [Formula Presented] isotones; these were interpreted as resulting from chiral symmetry breaking in the intrinsic body-fixed frame.
