O-Lattice analysis of β phase precipitates in α2 phase of TiAlWSiB alloy

    TEM analyses were performed on Ti-47Al-2W-0.5Si-0.5B (ABB-23) alloy. There were β phase precipitates in α2 phase because of the addition of β stabilizer W element. The orientation relationship between β and α2 phases is (0001)α2//{110}β, >112̄0>α2 {111}β β precipitates exhibit six different lath directions when the incident electron beam is normal to the (0001)α2//{110}β plane. The lath growth directions of β precipitates are predicted by the O Lattice model.
