Abstract
A three dimensional model of the slotted tube resonator (STR) shielded by a conducting circular cylinder and loaded by a dielectric body is analyzed by using the variational method, assuming an infinitely long cylindrical body. Numerical results such as the input impedance and the field distribution are obtained to investigate the effects of the dielectric body on the STR. A hybrid technique combining the variational method and the FDTD method is proposed to analyze the STR loaded by the body having arbitrary dielectric property and shape.
