Abstract

A numerical study on CH4/O2/H2O laminar premixed flames was performed under fuel-rich and high-pressure conditions. Under conditions of a high equivalence ratio, the laminar burning velocity increased at high pressure. Sensitivity analysis and reaction path analysis were also conducted to investigate the mechanisms of the increase of laminar burning velocity at high pressure. It was confirmed that the shift of reaction pathway from the C2 route to the C1 route causes the increase of laminar burning velocity at high pressure. Such shift of reaction pathway is considered to be strongly related to the three-body reactions and the fall-off reactions.
