Nuclear relaxation studies of metallic states in vanadium oxides

The temperature dependence of the 51V nuclear spin-lattice relaxation time T1 in the metallic state of V2O3 and VnO2n-1 (n=6-8) exhibits a relation of 1/T1 = α + βT. It is suggested that the α term is due to the local character of the spin fluctuations, although those are not attributed to a purely local moment limit.
