Abstract

Gelation of aluminum nitrate or silica-sol solution supported on low-surface-area ceramic material was shown to provide a convenient and effective method for supporting alumina or silica ultrafine particles on the material. The catalyst using the novel support exhibited a better performance than previous ones for catalytic combustion of hydrocarbon.
