We study vortex solitons in nonrelativistic Chern-Simons gauge theories in two spatial dimensions. It is shown that in such theories the mass of the vortex is expressed exactly in terms of its statistical flux. Then, analyzing the interaction energy of the Chern-Simons vortex with an external magnetic field, we evaluate the vortex g-factor together with the vortex magneton. It is also pointed out that in nonrelativistic theories topological vortices can exist only in the presence of an external magnetic field.
