Nonisothermal crystallization kinetics of poly(butylene succinate) and poly(ethylene succinate)

    Abstract

    Nonisothermal melt crystallization kinetics of Poly(butylene succinate) (PBSU) and Poly(ethylene succinate) (PES) was studied using differential scanning calorimetry. It was shown that the Avrami equation modified by Jeziorny could describe the nonisothermal crystallization process of both PBSU and PES. It was found that the crystallization rate of both the compounds increased with an increase in the cooling rate. The Avarmi exponent, na was found to decrease with an increase in the cooling rate for both PBSU and PES.
