Abstract
A study to investigate the non-Markovian effects on quantum optimal control of dissipative wave packet dynamics is presented. The nonlinear pulse design equations are solved together with the same class of a non-Markovian master equation, in which no restrictions on pulse shape are imposed. Considerable changes are observed in the shape of the optimal pulse with increasing intensity, suggesting that strong fields open up control mechanisms that are qualitatively different from those in weak fields.
