NOAA image database for Siberia

Abstract

In order to study the Siberian environment and the changes, we constructed the new NOAA station at Novosibirsk, Siberian Russia. The received data are compressed and transferred to Tohoku University by VSAT system. The coverage of the received station is from Far East Russia for east to Northern Europe for west. We made the image database for Siberian with cooperated Computer Center Tohoku University. The Siberian Image Database is two area; lake Bikal and Novosibirsk, for each area is 1024 × 1024 pixel for Ch2, Ch4 and pseudo color images of AVHRR. The data is updated almost every day. This database is able to access by everyone via internet.
