NOAA image database for Mongolian

Abstract

In order to study the Mongolian and North East Asian environment and the changes, we constructed the new NOAA station at Novosibirsk, Siberian Russia. The received data are compressed and transferred to Tohoku University by VSAT system. The coverage of the received station is from Far East Russia for east to Northern Europe for west. We made the image database for Mongolian with cooperated Computer Center Tohoku University. The Mongolian Image Database is one area; 2048 × 1024 pixel for Ch2, Ch4 and pseudo color images of AVHRR. The data is updated almost every week. Because it is difficult to make by one pass data of this wide area. This database is able to access by everyone via internet.
