Abstract
The NO reduction with carbon has been investigated in the presence of oxygen. The use of both mass spectrometer and gas chromatography for gas analysis, together with the use of isotope gas, was quite powerful. It was concluded that N2 was formed by the reaction between surface nitrogen species and gaseous NO.
