Abstract

Molecular-frame photoelectron angular distributions (MFPADs) for NO in the nitrogen K-shell ionization regions have been measured at five photon energies 412, 413, 413.22, 414.5 and 415 eV. All experimental information on the MFPAD is encapsulated in a set of four FJN() functions for each energy, which are compared with the results of full ab initio vibrationally averaged calculations, performed using the multichannel Schwinger configuration interaction method within the framework of the adiabatic approximation for photoionization. The major features are fairly well reproduced by the calculations.
