New transducer construction for wideband SAW TV IF filters

A new construction of an interdigital transducer for a wideband SAW TV IF filter has been developed. When the filter needs wide passband and low shape-factor characteristics, the number of electrodes in the interdigital transducer has to be increased. In that case surface-wave reflection in the transducer causes large ripples in the filter characteristics. In this paper a new type dummy-electrode for suppression of this reflection is described.
