New organic conductor (DMET)2CuCl2: Synthesis, structure and physical properties

Abstract

A new organic conducting salt, (DMET)2CuCl2, was prepared by a diffusion method, crystal and electrical structures of which were investigated. The single-crystal X-ray crystallography revealed that DMET molecules are alternately stacked to form quasi-one-dimensional (Q-1D) columns. This salt exhibited a metallic behavior with lowering temperature σRr = 1.25 × 103 S-cm-1), where several resistance jumps were observed.
