Abstract

Bis(methylmercuric) selenide [BMS, (CH3Hg)2Se] was obtained by the reaction of methylmercuric chloride and sodium selenite in the presence of reduced glutathione or cysteine in a reasonable yield. The reaction is simple and useful for BMS synthesis.
