Abstract

As in the boundary layer over a flat plate, ordered motions were found in the air flow over wind waves, and their structure studied in detail. The ordered motions have a horizontal scale similar to the wavelength of the underlying wind waves. Possible interactions between the ordered motions and the wind waves are suggested.
