Neutron Diffraction Study of Antiferromagnetic Order in the Kondo Compound CePdSn

Abstract

Magnetic structure of the Kondo compound CePdSn is studied by neutron diffraction experiments on a single-crystalline sample. Below TN=7 K, Ce moments establish a single-Q type ordering [fromula omitted] with incommensurate modulation vector k=0.473b∗. The polarization vectors av cannot uniquely be determined from scattering intensities, and thus those which reproduce the intensities are selected using a maximum entropy method. The polarization vectors have a, b and c components with root mean square of the moment [fromula omitted] at T=1.5K.
