Abstract
The electronic states of Fe adatoms deposited on Cu(111) by photoemission spectroscopy and narrow peak at the Fermi level in the Fe 3d spectral function was studied. The Fe 3d spectral function was found to be consistent with the Anderson impurity model. An enhancement of coulomb interaction for the Fe 3d electrons and a reduction of hybridization between the Fe 3d state and the conduction band state in an Fe adatom on Cu(111) was indicated by the results.
