    Abstract

We demonstrate high potential of polymer nanosheets as a soft scaffold for the growth of metal-organic framework films. Nanofilms of a Cu-based metal-organic framework (HKUST-1) were deposited by the layer-by-layer processing on polymer nanosheets fabricated by the Langmuir-Blodgett technique. The film growth proceeds in the (111) direction to yield a highly smooth surface.
