Abstract
The ground-state phase diagram of the one-dimensional Kondo lattice model with an anisotropic exchange is investigated. Four different phases are identified, two types of Neel phases, the Haldane phase, and the Kondo spin liquid phase. The boundaries between these phases are determined by using mapping to effective models in the strong coupling region combined with numerical methods of the exact diagonalization and the density matrix renormalization group.
