Mode coupling measurement at a splice point between few-mode fibers using a synchronous multi-channel OTDR

Abstract

We report a mode-coupling measurement method at a splice point between few-mode fibers using an OTDR. The mode coupling between LP01-LP11 modes measured at the splice point agreed well with measurements using the transmission method.
