We derive the Ginzburg-Landau equation for two-dimensional d-wave superconductors with fourfold symmetry. The two d-wave components of the order parameter with (Formula presented) and (Formula presented) symmetry are mixed by the component of a magnetic field perpendicular to the two-dimensional plane. The mixing of the two components causes a significant paramagnetic effect in the strong-field region.
