Abstract
A miniaturized coherent light source at 0. 42- mu m wavelength has been developed, consisting of a 0. 84- mu m laser diode and a guided-wave frequency doubler. 1. 05-mW output power was obtained in a proton-exchanged PE LiNbO//3 waveguide at room temperature. This could be a practical coherent light source with many uses in the blue spectral range.
