Microstructure of a metallic glass joint welded by electron beam examined by anomalous small-angle scattering at Zr K edge

Abstract

(1) At the interface of the bead and HAZ of sample A, a scattering intensity corresponding to a clustering was found, and this component exhibited a very strong contrast change near the Zr K edge. (2) In all the profiles of sample B and those for the positions d to f in sample A, a monotonically decreasing component which enhanced at E=Enear was found, indicating a nm-scale fluctuation of density in atomic scattering factor. (3) Power law component found at low angle region had the power of about q-3. (4) The radius of gyration Rg had no position dependence in sample B and position c to fin sample A. (5) Rg at positions a and b was about 2, and it was about twice as big as in the other positions.
