Micro power supply using thin film magnetic core

Abstract

The electronic characteristics of micro inductors was reported and the evaluating characteristics of a step-down dc/dc converter was evaluated using this latest soft magnetic cores. The loss of IC was reduced and the efficiency attained a maximum value of 90% at approximately 100mA. It was observed that the high efficiency of the micro dc/dc converter is the result of the highly efficient micro inductor and showed almost the same value as the design value.
