N2 - We have studied a metamagnetic transition in PrCu2 where there is a cooperative Jahn-Teller effect occurring below 8 K. This transition brings about a conversion between an easy and a hard axis in magnetization, which is reflected in a drastic change of the de Haas-van Alphen amplitude. The metamagnetic field decreases for the field along the c-axis when the transition is repeated. On the other hand, it is almost constant for the a-axis.
