N2 - We have measured the electrical resistivity, magnetoresistance, specific heat, thermal expansion, de Haas-van Alphen effect, magnetic susceptibility and magnetization in DyCu2. The metamagnetic transtion has been observed in a wide temperature range from 1.3 to 170 K. The transition field decreases with increasing the temperature up to the Néel temperature of 27 K, while it increases linearly from about 50 K to 170 K. This metamagnetism is similar to that of PrCu2 and is explained on the basis of the quadrupole interaction.
